Vacuum Debris & Spoil Removal in Tampa Bay

Mud, slurry, sand, and standing water, pulled out through a hose and hauled away in the tank, not left in a pile on your site.

Hydrovac vacuum truck with its boom extended at a roadside jobsite

What is debris & spoil removal?

A hydrovac truck is a powerful industrial vacuum on wheels. Beyond digging, that vacuum is used to clean out pits, trenches, vaults, and excavations that have filled with mud, slurry, sand, or rainwater. The material goes straight into the sealed debris tank and leaves the site with the truck.

This is useful anywhere a loader or excavator cannot reach, or where mechanical cleanout would risk damaging what is already in the ground: utility vaults, manholes, valve boxes, bore pits, and trenches with exposed pipe or conduit.

When you need it

  • Clearing a trench or pit after a Florida afternoon storm
  • Removing slurry and cuttings from bore pits
  • Cleaning out utility vaults, manholes, and valve boxes
  • Removing sand and silt from excavations ahead of inspection
  • Cleaning up after a main break or wash out
  • Removing spoil from sites with no room for a stockpile

How we do it

1

Assess the material

We look at the volume and type of material, and at anything in the excavation that must be protected.

2

Vacuum it out

Water, slurry, and loose material are pulled through the hose into the debris tank.

3

Clean to grade

The excavation is cleaned down to the depth or condition you need for the next step.

4

Haul and dispose

The load leaves with the truck and is taken for disposal, so there is nothing left to manage on site.

Tampa Bay conditions

Field note

Summer storms can put inches of rain into an open excavation in an afternoon, and in low lying parts of Tampa Bay the water table can push water up from below. A vacuum truck gets the hole back to working condition quickly so the job doesn't stall.

What to include in your quote request

The more of this you can share, the faster and more accurate your quote will be:

  • Approximate volume of material, or the dimensions of the pit or trench
  • Type of material: water, mud, slurry, sand, or mixed debris
  • Whether there are exposed utilities or equipment in the excavation
  • Any contamination concerns, such as fuel, oil, or chemicals

Debris & Spoil Removal FAQ

What happens to the material you remove?

It is hauled away in the debris tank and taken for proper disposal. Disposal is usually priced as part of the job.

Can you remove contaminated material?

Tell us up front if you suspect fuel, oil, or chemicals. Contaminated material has different handling and disposal requirements and must be planned in advance.

How much can the truck hold?

Debris tank sizes vary by truck. Give us your estimated volume and we will plan the number of loads.
